POSTER DESIGN - UN-CONVENTION FOOTBALL
CALLING ALL DESIGNERS!
As part of the next Un-convention events we’re asking people to submit a poster design for one, two or all three of the events. The posters can be as simple or complex as you wish. The best designs will be displayed at the selected event and the winner will also get the chance to design the poster for our next Un-convention event. #UNCON38 Un-convntion Football
Event brief
Un-convention Football is a special event looking at the role football plays in our communities. It will examine ‘the beautiful game’ not only in terms of what happens on the pitch, but also the rich culture that surrounds it. From goalposts painted on the walls of back alleys to the bated breath of 80,000 fans at the San Siro, football is much more than the sum of its parts, it is woven into the fabric of the country, as it is in many countries around the world.

Un-Convention 10.11.12 will explore Moss Side and Hulme’s rhyme, punk, rave, party, reggae and dance culture that ultimately influenced the world. 10.11.12 will feature the most diverse performers, musicians and DJs from Manchester’s exciting past and present. Through a magical journey of unpredictable encounters, parties, exhibitions, projections and talks, we will unravel the secrets of the cultural melting pot of Manchester, Moss Side and Hulme

#Uncon40 Upstairs on the Curry Mile
Event brief
Un-Convention will be putting on a unique festival upstairs on Rusholme’s Curry Mile. This festival will happen in the nooks and crannies along the curry mile and fuse amazing music, DJs and special guests with the wonderful food of Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and the Middle East. It will involve Manchester’s most exciting new promoters. Expect to hear sounds from around the world.
During the day expect discussions around S. Asian music in the UK by the leading industry experts intermixed with ghidda dance and dhol; sessions making your own Bhangra record sleeves.
